TSX- and NYSE-listed Taseko Mines expects its namechange to Trekor Metals to become effective today, with the company's common shares due to start trading under the new name on June 29.

The ticker symbol for the company's common shares will remain unchanged - "TKO" on the TSX, "TGB" on the NYSE and "TKO" on the LSE.

Trekor remains a midtier copper producer located in British Columbia, Canada. It operates Gibraltar mine, the second-largest openpit copper mine in Canada, and is in the planning stages for several other mines including the Prosperity mine, Harmony, and Aley.
